Feature Designs

Cross Stitch Character Cottages
Create a quartet of quaint cottages with this collection of charming scenes. They typify the characteristics of some of the many cottages seen up and down the country. Each cottage is packed with detail but being a compact size, take very little time to stitch. They make super cards, framed mini pictures or position them on a single piece of fabric for a bigger frame or bellpull.

Cross stitchElegant Carriages
Before the dawn of the internal combustion engine or steam, carriages such as these were the means of travelling long distances. The nippy sports car of its day was the phaeton, raced by rakes and often transporting a Georgian beauty on board. The carriage to be seen in around town was the luxury model of the Landau while the earliest form of public transport was to take a seat on the mail coach, thundering through the night at breakneck speed. This collection of carriage would suit any fan of vehicular history but would perhaps also be adored by anyone with rows of Jane Austen or Georgette Heyer on their bookshelves!

HardangerDainty Doily
This delicate roundel is a Hardanger delight with extensive cutwork giving it a filigree effect. Worked on 28 count fabric, the stitches have an intricate lacy look. It looks superb in this dark tray, but it can be stitched on a large piece of fabric to be finished in Antique hem stitch for an elegant table centre or presented in a circular frame.

Cross stitchEgyptian Blooms
This collection of dramatic designs is inspired by the art of Ancient Egypt. The lotus flower was a common motif and together with the rich colours of coral, turquoise, jade and gold, create an aura of the land of the pharaohs. The gold stitches are highlighted with a rich sparkle thanks to the blending filament and each design has the perfect finishing touch of an Egyptian style brass charm.

Cross StitchSiberian Husky
This wonderful animal portrait features an attentive and eager Siberian Husky that is perfect for dog lovers or fans of the great outdoors. All the character of these fabulous dogs is captured in this study as well as the distinctive coat and colouring these wolf-like creatures have. You certainly get a rewarding result for this small project which is the combined result of clever shading and a finer fabric count.

Blackwork
Graduated Colour
Build up layers of Blackwork ‘runs’ to create intensity in patterns to give a sense of movement and shading to Blackwork designs.
