Feature Designs
I
Saw Three Ships This impressive design is inspired by
the joyous, traditional song that celebrates
the arrival of Christmas. Blending filament
and Back stitch are used to show the glittering
ropes and sails of the ships.
It might be tempting to call this an advanced
embroidery and certainly it is fairly complex.
However, if you can count, work Cross stitch
and Back stitch and divide and combine threads,
this is all you need to know to create this
rewarding picture.
Octagon
Pavement Shades of cream and terracotta will appeal
to those with up-to-the-minute furnishing tastes
just as much as those who have never tired of
autumn tints for their warmth. There is always
room for a workbox as a decorative and useful
item, so why not indulge yourself with some
easy and quick-to-work canvas stitches and become
re-acquainted with a wonderful tapestry wool
made in the United kingdom. The workbox we've
chosen is in solid, rich mahogany with brass
hinges and a useful removable storage tray.
A beautiful way to keep all your sewing accessories
in order.
Quick
Cards This is a great new selection of cards
with traditional Christmas designs. There's
a festive goose, a cottage nestling in the snow
and a plum pudding - as well as lots of other
favourites.
Each design can be stitched in just an hour
or two - so you'll have time to make special
cards for everyone!
From
the Hedgerow - Honeysuckle This beautiful honeysuckle design is the
first in our series of wild flowers, plants and
berries which brighten our country hedgerows.
Stitched on evenweave, the trailing stem and delicate
golden flowers will delight any nature lover.
With colour changes adding depth and movement
to the leaves, the only thing missing is the wonderful
honeysuckle scent!
Lapland
Christmas Runner Cross stitch a Christmas table runner
with a special frosty flavour. This design features
a snow-covered scene straight from Lapland - but
Santa's already left in his sleigh!
From the
Wrong side in Hardanger There are some stitches and motifs in
embroidery that can be, or always are, worked
from the wrong side of the fabric. This is so
far Shadow work, where the stitches can be formed
as Double Back stitch on the front or Herringbone
stitch from the back. In Thailand they work
all their Cross stitch from the reverse side
of the fabric!
